Take my tickets, please! Comedy Works anyone?
As a very wise website once observed, the internet may be killing live comedy.
I know most of my laughs come from internet memes or snarky websites or quotes from tv shows that are circulated endlessly on comment boards. (“To start, press any key. Where’s the ANY key?”)
But tonight, I take the bold step of potentially laughing at live performers at the Comedy Works.
While I’m sure it’s just in my mind’s eye that the talent there will be telling “And women drive like this!” jokes or riffing on Mr. T ala 1982, I’m not so sure about this “real life laughter” thing.
Ah, but I jest. I’ve got a stash of free tickets and am exicited to go grab a beer and laugh with REAL LIVE humans for a night.
Would any one here on my beloved interweb like to join in? Tickets have to be gotten by 7pm. Give me a hollar, and I’ll reserve one for interested parties. (Just FYI- I think there’s the usual 2 drink minimum at the Comedy Works.)
You know where to find me, Denverites who might care for a Tuesday Night guffaw.
But lord knows a live comic can be nothing compared to an LOLcat.
HA……uh. Yep. The internet has ruined laughter forever.
So…any tickets still available?
‘Fraid it was for a show this last week (which was good, Despite a few “Women drive like this…” jokes. Yawn yawn.) But I’m sure more tickets will come my way, as I like to enter sweepstakes like it’s going out of style.
I will keep all posted when it inevitably comes up again!
