Ride the “Tooth Chipper” or the “Pace Maker!” at Lakeside
If you grew up around the Denver area, chances are good you got in at least one heated exchange with classmates about which amusement park was better: Elitch Gardens (Old version, not the corporate Six Flags hype) or Lakeside Amusement Park.
I thought I had a definitive position on the best brand of park back in the day, but a trip to our aging Lady by the Lake changed my amusement-loving mind.
For twenty bucks between the two of us, my gentleman caller and I were able to take in pretty much a whole day in the park, which, for all you fans out there, is celebrating it’s 100th Anniversary! A century of fun!
We opted for purchasing individual tickets, and they stretched rather far. I screamed on the Wild Chipmunk, felt terror at the drop of the ZOOM, and rode a pig on the merry-go-round (much better than a horse.)
Go celebrate the Centennial days of this Denver legend! Just make sure you’re belted in nice and tight on those rollercoasters.
