Political Karaoke and movable art
So I’ve been swept up in the pre-convention angst and excitement already…
I’ll be keeping track of fun stuff going on all week and other important stuff we should all turn out for.
Last night started off things right with Political Karaoke at the Supreme Court bar downtown. Folks took up the mike to deliver some of the most memorable (or disturbing, as with the speech by one politician who’s name rhymes with “Bit Bomney.”) Our very own mayor John Hickenlooper gave the first speech, and by all accounts was simply astounding (The guy’s a cool cat in person.)
Convention Karaoke events will be taking place throughout the week- take a gander at this schedule.
Out front of the bar, the BOOM Art truck was on display. A moving van filled with well-designed exhibits from well-known Denver artists, the truck will be tearing around town all week and making an artistic splash.
By the by, Matt- I have your saftey goggles. They were left in my/Justin’s care after the karaoke event. Claim any time!
Thanks Megs! I always bring safety goggles to political things. I’ll need a full commercial welding mask, or bio suit, this next week.
I bought myself a pair of awesome goggles myself, just in case.
The fella at the place where I purchased them asked if they were for Burning Man or some other fetish thing.
No. I just want to look awesome whilst driving and safe when political mudslinging starts.
Let’s have a goggle day sometime soon!
