Go out for a local DINR
September 6th through the 12th, eateries in the Denver Independent Network of Restaurants are celebrating the bounty of Colorado with their Harvest Week menues.
Celebrating the local delicacies of the Colorado area isn’t just a culinary saulte to Colorado’s fresh produce and products, but also an environmentally friendly way to chow down. Getting the food supplies from the surrounding area results in less transportation, and thusly less fuel consumption, lessening the carbon footprint. It also allows eaters and restauranteurs around town to support Colorado growers, brewers, and other producers.
Visiting locally owned and independent Denver restaurants is also a great chance to throw your support in for the community. And some tasty places are members of DINR- go to their website to see the whole list.
During the Harvest Week, the DINR restaurants will be offering special menues with an emphasis on local food in addition to their regular menues. Other special events are also planned.
So eat, drink, be merry and be local!
