Affordable Birth Control: Take some action!

Sometimes, an unwanted pregnancy can put too much strain on an already struggling woman or family. An error in judgement or an error in birth control usage that leads to an unexpected or unwanted pregnancy is difficult, costly, and traumatizing for many.

But a technical error in a Congressional law may have made women and families working to utilize birth control to avoid unwanted pregnancies face that much more financial difficulty.

As Planned Parenthood notes, “Because of a technical error made by Congress back in 2005, the cost of birth control in many health centers has risen by almost 900 percent from what it was a short time ago.”

Recently, birth control prices have risen because of this error and women and families who are struggling economically (particularly low-income women and college students) are feeling the impact.

Legislation has been introduced to correct this error, which won’t cost tax payers anything!

In the meantime, it’s a good reminder to take some action to ensure everyone has access to low-cost birth control as well as knows how to utilize it properly during this, the Affordable Birth Control: Week of Action.

Spread to word to make sure that everyone who is working hard and responsibly to prevent unwanted pregnancies can achieve this, and don’t forget to protect yourselves as well!!
