Hella Giddy hits sputnik!

Here’s the truth: I adore good pop art. Andy Warhol has always struck a major chord for me, and I’ve been enjoying ideas of camp and pop and how it plays with so much of what we assume and know in the commercial world.

So I’m especially excited to see the new installation at Sputnik.

Bringing the pop/camp sensibilities to the walls of Sputnik throughout Ocotober is hailed pop artist and DJ Michael Payne (a.k.a. Wigdan Giddy) with his HELLA GIDDY show.

Creating openly LGBT characters in his pop art world, Payne plays with the pop Japanese sensations such as Hello Kitty, creating an entertainment line that celebrates diversity through toys, cards, posters, pillow dolls, and magnets.
