Nightmare on Curtis Street
Halloween!!! It’s getting close, and just the thing to take my tender brain off the constant drone of election worries.
So tell me, Denverites, what might your costumes be?
I think I’m going to wrap myself in a bunch of tubes and go as “Teh Internets” in honor of Ted Steven’s sentencing. I guess I will fall outside the realm of the usual female costumes this year, since I probably won’t be in fishnets or a bra top as “Sexy Internets” (I know this has been asked a million times, but the sexy thing- does EVERYTHING have to be “Sexy…” or “Slutty”? I mean, “Sexy Zombie” is kinda gross… “Slutty Zoo-Keeper” is just confusing, and “Sexy Sanitation Commissioner”- ???)
WELL… AS I was typing before my digression….
This Friday offers a bouquet of spooky delights to everyone in Denver.
For one, the Bluebird Equation will be offering their third annual Halloween Party at the Old Curtis Street Tavern along with Missing DuFrenes, Manther Orange, and the Rooster Bros.
The show starts at 9:30 and is a bargain for $5.
This year’s theme is “Famous Dead People.”
Last year was “Nintendo” (I attended as a Shy Guy from Mario Bros., and my friend cleverly appeared as Paper Boy) and the year before that, “X-Men.”
It’s remarkably fun to bring the nerdiness into Halloween (And I don’t mean wearing a “Slutty Nerd” costume or anything…)
Oh heck, maybe I should just give up and go with the trend. Afterall, what’s sexier than the internets? I’ll just paste some screen captures from porno pages on myself and the internets costume will be complete!
