IT’S Here! The day of decision!
OH MY GOB. It felt like this day would never, ever come. I was beginning to dread waking up in the morning as all I could hear everywhere was the chatter of pundits reciting banal lines and party points. Websites were stinging in their vitriol. Even the voices in my head were rife with partisan infighting (they usually get along moderately peacefully in there!)
So here it is!
Do you have the essential info for voting today? I didn’t and had to do a little searching.
Here’s a helpful site for non-partisan info: Just Vote Colorado. You can find out your precinct polling location, where you can drop off a mail-in ballot, check your registration, and find out any other info you might need on the polling day.
Still sorting through all that stuff on the extra-extra-long ballot this year? I’ve been to plenty of sites searching for info on the ballot initiatives. The League of Women Voters provides an excellent outline of the issues without endorsement or partisanship. They also have a page where they question all the major candidates running for office in the state. Check it out.
So that’s the info: Lines are expected to be incredibly long this year, what with all the ballot issues and potential machine issues, but don’t let that stop you! Let’s vote, Denver! Yay!!!
Polling station at 900 Grant was not busy at all. Things looked like they were running very smoothly.
Yeh! Things were pretty clear over at 1535 Franklin (Shout out to Uptown!)- no body was in line approx. 2pm! A fellow waiting for the bus told me he voted downtown at the bookstore- his wait was a very long one, but over the lunch hour.
Maybe expect a rush after work?
Yay for voting!
There should be voting kissing booths.
I’ll second that.
Although I had a funny image of the 80 year old lady who was election judge at my polling place acting manning the booth.
Maybe a hugging booth in that case. I would totally take a hug from her.
