C&C Speaker Series features Ian Fisher
It’s December already- amazing! The sky is getting so much darker earlier in the day, and I’m missing the dazzling sunsets. Luckily, an exhibition starting these months might help ease the pain of sunset-less days.
Over at the Denver City and CountyBuilding (1437 Bannock Street) the ingenious C&C Exhibition Series (held on the 4th Floor, Room 419) will be featuring the work of Denver artist Ian Fisher. A painter with a studio at the Red Line Studios, Fisher examines sunsets and the sweeping skyscapes they create and paints atmospheric works that are both realistic and abstract.
The C&C Exhibition and Speaker Series at Denver’s City and County Building Jury Commissioner’s Room offers local artists a chance to display their two-dimensional artwork for a wide Denver audience. It also allows those called for jury duty a nice chance to experience some great art during what might otherwise being a tedious civic task.
While work has been displayed in the room since 2006, Denver photographer Anna Newell energized the project in 2007, expanding the reach of the showings and starting the Speaker Series for 2008.
Check out Ian’s work as the last exhibitinoner in 2008, and if you’re a Denver artist yourself, check out the C&C blog here to learn about submitting to be one of the monthly featured artists.
