Seeing the posters for the Thin Man Tavern’s New Year’s “Enchantment Under the Sea” made me think of two good things: This catchy ditty from The Simpsons, and Marty McFly’s performance at his mother’s high school dance in Back to the Future. Yes, this is a good theme for a party.

A funky little bar on 17th and Vine, Uptown’s Thin Man Tavern is one of my favorite places, and a serious contender for places to celebrate New Years Eve.

At the Thin Man’s new year’s party, scuba gear and bikinis (and faux fur coats- this is winter, after all!) will be welcome to bid 2008 adieu and welcome ‘09. Revelers can sip not-watered down cocktails and beers, enjoy the hot tub, and dance around with the DJ and other festivities. Sounds like a fine, watery adventure all in all!

Advance tickets are $20 while they last, while admission at the door is $50. So get your tickets early to this event!
