In the mood for a musical new year’s eve? Well, you’re in luck as the closing of ‘08 will be bringing some pretty sweet shows here tonight.

Over a the hi-dive the Future Party will be marking the start of a brave new world. Brought to you by trusty FM Magazine, it’s a chance to bust out that future garb (does a Star Trek uniform count?) and dance to the DJ collective and hip hop DJs. There’s a champagne toast at midnight, so the future world of tommorrow will at least start on a bubbly note. It’s only $8, so that’s a pretty sweet deal for a New Year’s party.

At the Bluebird on Colfax, Slim Cesna’s Autoclub will be bringing the music of the past up-to-date with a rock-a-billy, punkish good time.

Located a little more centrally for those in the Downtown area, a short trip up Colfax to the Filmore Auditorium will find you Flogging Molly playing tonight. While I’ve never been to their shows, the Irish tinged, high-energy music of the band has been popular for over a decade and lines always seem to snake around the Filmore whenever they play, so they must be pretty all right!

Strap on your dancing shoes and get ready to rock in the New Year here in Denver.
