The Toxic Avenger brings troma to Denver

Tonight at the Esquire Midnight movies, not only will the toxic avenger be up on the screen, but the film’swriter/director, Lloyd Kaufman of troma, will be there IN PERSON to answer questions!

A nerd with no hope for success with the ladies (The Avenger, not Kaufman), the hero of the famed low-budget horror/comedy is nothing until a chemical ooze spill fills him with super powers and a melty body. Now a New Jersey superhero, the Toxic Avenger is going to settle scores in the cult film that made troma the go-to name for goofy, knowing camp horror.

Midnight movies at the esquire are a great time- shuffling into the theatre that late feels like a hearkening back to the days of the Grindhouse films, something I never got to experience (damn being born too late!) and for which I have a not-so-secret place in my heart.

So go see New Jersey’s only toxic superhero on the big screen and meet the creator, a rare opportunity!
