Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! is one of the surreal delights on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim programming lineup. A variety-style absurdist bit of theatre, the show is comedy team Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim’s tribute to the late-night informercials, odd music videos, and cable access programming that confounds and entertains us all.

Appearing live at the Ogden Theatre tonight at 8PM, I wonder how they will bring segments such as “The Uncle Muscles Hour” and “Channel 5 Married Newsteam” to life. It’s sure to be wacky, and certainly will be a joy for all those with a slightly (or totally?) skewed sense of humor that appreciates 80s-esque music numbers, such as this one for “Pumpers” (one of my favorite bits on their show ever.)

I’m a big fan of their work (I love their rickety animation and screwball plotlines in “Tom Goes to the Mayor”) and am excited to see how the tour will bring their strange brand of hilarity to the stage.
