Pack your day with Oscar cinema
![]()
I may have said this before, but one of my friends in particular hates it when I call movies “Film” or “Cinema” (As in: “Hey! Transformers III: More Explodin’! just came out! Let’s go see that film! I heard it was Michael Bay’s finest piece of Cinema.”) but I like to think I can legitimately use those terms when it comes to Academy Award nominated movies (NOTE: I will never, ever use it for Titanic.)
This year, I’ve seen exactly None of the nominated films, which saddens me, as I’m usually lined up with ticket in palm for each and every ultra-serious arthousy style flick.
But I and everyone else can catch up on all that viewing this Saturday as the AMC Highlands Ranch and the AMC Westminster Promenade theatres are offering the AMC Best Picture Showcase.
Starting at 10:30 in the morning with Milk and running until 11:45 at night, you get to see all FIVE nominated films as well as free popcorn with unlimited refills all for the price of $30.
I’m seriously considering doing this, as wiling my hours away in the darkness while annoying my friend by endlessly saying “What do you think of this film? Do you think it is Oscar worthy cinema?” and eating a freakin’ ton of popcorn sounds like a sweet way to spend a day.
Check out the AMC website for ticket information and locations.
