Brian Jonestown Massacre! Tonight!

Seeing the Brian Jonestown Massacre at the Larimer Lounge lo-those-many-years-ago was one of the best concert experiences I’ve had (Well, two experiences. I went to their shows both nights they were there.)
There was an absolute twinge of insanity in the air: From frontman Anton Newcombe, who yelled at the crowd, drifted around, pinched my friend; The strange fella who refused to take off his sunglasses even as the night wore on and kissed girls in the back; the handsome young man with glasses who told me about his start-up band; the hyped-up crowd excited to see some mayhem and jumping around all throughout the small room.
Yes, those were the glory days. So I’m excited for the BJM to return to the Ogden Theatre tonight.
As those who’ve seen the award-winning documentary Dig! know, the band was one of the up-and-coming promise holders of the music scene in the 1990s and early 2000s, along with their one-time pals The Dandy Warhols. While they probably won’t be remembered as the revolutionaries they seemed poised to be back then, they still will be remembered and their shows are a great, wildly unpredictable good time.
The show starts at 8PM, and tickets are $20.
