Need a place to live? Check out Boutique Apartments

When I first was moving to the Denver area about a year and a half ago, I came across the Boutique Apartment website and was pretty impressed, although I assumed that, what with their themed exteriors and newly remodeled fixtures, a poor scamp like me would likely be unable to afford such a place. Surprise surprise, all this time later, and ended up in their affordable Aperture building, and plan to stick around for the long foreseeable future!

I have to say, as far as apartment living goes, my small studio space is pretty grand. Sure it’s a little cramped at times, but I’ve lived in bigger places that weren’t nearly as nice nor were the landlords responsive to needs and community like I’ve found they are at Boutique.

A few fun facts about the place I call home and the other buildings: Built and maintained with the environment in mind, the buildings are Green and eco-friendly. They also offer recycling, which is good when you collect as many bottles and cans as I do (ahem.) We also get our energy from windpower at the buildings, which is pretty sweet.

Each building has a theme- mine is cameras, with vintage polaroid cameras lining the entry way and an old movie camera at the front door. The building next to mine is Rocket, decorated with found objects by a Denver artist that gives it a space aged look. H20 is up the street, and it’s unmissable in bright blue, with its porthole windows and bubble fixtures. These buildings are grouped Uptown, near the hospitals, but there are 8 other buildings around town.

I’ve been impressed with their emphasis on community- we residents have a couple of company-sponsored BBQs and other events in the parking lot each year, which is a nice way to meet the neighbors. They also host events around town and at their HQ over on Colorado. They also support the community by giving 5% of each property management dollar to many local non-profits.

So just FYI, if you’re looking for a good place to live, this comes highly recommended by me, your friendly neighborhood megs. If you feel like moving in, check them out at their Open House, Monday through Friday 10AM-6PM at their new Metropolis building. Tell ‘em megs b. in Aperture sent you!
