Monkeys are amazing creatures: They have little grasping hands, some of them have prehensile tails, some of them are swimmers, some of them are drinkers, and many of them often make faces that are startlingly similar to those we see on the humans around us.

At the Arvada Center’s newest exhibition, well-known photographer Jill Greenberg takes a break from her usual portraiture of celebrities and other people and instead takes on some of our closest relatives in the animal world.

Her show featuring portraits of monkeys as well as a series of bears opened last night, June 11, and is a free exhibit for anyone who wants to swing by the Center. She’ll be giving a free artist talk on June 15 at 10 a.m.
