Denver-based musician John Common (and his group, the Blinding Flashes of Light) recently teamed with 60 visual artists to create special artistic boxes which will house the band’s forthcoming CD.

The show opened yesterday, but the Abecedarian Gallery at 910 Santa Fe, Unit #101, will be showing these creative works, some inspired by lyrics in Common’s songs, through July 18.

On July 14th, the gallery will host “Action Figures” (formerly Self-Made), a talk with local artists and guest John Common.

July 18th will feature a listening party at the gallery, celebrating both the artwork and the new CD Common has debuting this fall. The boxes will be on sale, with a copy of the CD included.
