Lakeside Photos
Went to Lakeside on Sunday for the first time since, oh, 1982 or 1983. For the rediculous entry fee of $2.50 you get… actually more than you’d think.
Yes, it’s old, rundown, and desperately in need of repair (everything). Yes the Cyclone is closed. The Fun House I FONDLY remember is gone.
But the people watching is a 8/10, the train still works (see pic), and you can actually bring in your own food and drink. You read that correctly.
Some parts of the park are very pretty, it’s insanely cheap — even ride tickets — and it’s not crowded. The supercreepy laughing lady might return, interestingly. Bottom line: if you want to blow a $100 (per 2 people), safe rides, and plenty of concrete, go to Elitches.

If you like to get away with a great time for cheap and see some history — it opened in 1908 — head to Lakeside.

Lakeside is TOTALLY where it’s at!
I can’t wait to go this year to ride the “Tooth Chipper” or the Chipmunk or whatever it’s called…
FYI- they have coupons you can pick up at the Denver tourism office downtown that offer 2 people for $20 unlimited rides (with free gate admisison.) $10 each??? That’s a hell of a steal!
